Having a quality inducement won’t automatically make your squeeze page a success, though. It’s also critical to put together a squeeze page in the right manner. Squeeze page basics

First, keep your squeeze page free of any links leading to other sites of pages. You don’t want to provide your prospective customers with an “escape route” or distractions that may reduce conversions.

Additionally, your squeeze page should have a concise, strong message. You want people to take advantage of your inducement and to become a subscriber, not to complicate the situation. Don’t forget that your squeeze page only has one purpose – to build a list. Every line of that squeeze page should exist to serve that objective.

Third, you will want to approach the sign up process as if it were as important as a big sale – close that deal! That means that you will need to make a strong, persuasive call to action as part of your sign up form. Clearly communicate the value of subscribing to those reading the page.

The Squeeze Page – The landing page is the page that has your opt-in form on it. It’s the page where you ask them for their email address. So, obviously it has to be well designed. And it needs to be simple to see how to opt in. And your call to action must be clear!

Failure to include a great “call to action” will result in failure. This is a definitive message that tells your visitor what to do. You opt-in rates will take a dramatic nose dive without it. It’s strange, but if you don’t tell people what to do, they won’t do it.

One way to really spice up your squeeze page is to make it a video squeeze page. You only have a few second to get your visitors attention – video helps! It also allows you to tell them what to do several times. And you can have the video just tell them to fill in your form after it’s done playing.

It’s OK, if you’ve never made a video before. Hiring out-sourced help to do it for you only costs $150 – $250. There are also list building systems that include video squeeze pages.

The Bribe – Next, you’ve got to figure out what your bribe is. You have to give people a compelling reason to give your their email. Email privacy is very important to most people. This means your bribe needs to be very attractive.

The only way to make this work is to provide real value. It has to be something that people actually want. And can benefit from. Here’s some examples:

• A PDF report
• Some useful software
• A video
• A multi-part email series

It all boils down to content. Something that’s useful and helpful to your visitors. And nothing sells like “free”. But to get the email, it’s got to be a good offer.

Now, if you don’t know how to create the bribe don’t worry. Here again, you can hire freelancers to create this for you. Just give them a topic and they will write the content. A 5-part email series is a good freebie. You can have ghost writers create emails for under $25 an email. So, you’ll get the whole series written for under $150.

You can also get email list building tools that include the premium. There are two important things about the email series. First of all it has to give the subscriber what you promised – valuable information. It also has to generate revenue for you! The easiest way to do this is to market affiliate products in the emails. This allows you to get started with no products of your own. And you can earn some commissions immediately from your emails.

The Opt-in Success Page – Finally, you need to consider your opt-in confirmation page. This is where your visitor goes after opting into your list. It’s nice to give them some great content right away. That way, they feel glad that they gave you their email address. It also helps to build the relationship. Then they’re more receptive when you email them.

You can use a “done for you” email marketing system. Or you can do it yourself. You can either write the content pages on your own. Or have someone ghost write for you.

Summary

It doesn’t matter if you do all of this yourself. Or hire someone else to do it for you. Or go with a complete package. The key is to start building your list. Once you’ve got it built. You can basically write your own meal ticket.

The aim of any lead generation campaign is to build your mailing list. Internet marketers often say “the money is in the list”, which is totally true. A list of responsive buying customers that trust you is worth its weight in gold!

While spam filtering has lessened the impact of email marketing, it’s still a viable means to getting your sales messages out there. In theory, email is marketing is free, although of course its costs you in terms of your time.

Finally you have safe lists. A safe list is a list of people that have agreed to receive marketing emails in return for being able to send their own marketing email. No matter how you generate sales leads there is one thing always to bear in mind, and that is to be effective your leads must be in your targeted market. If, for example, you are selling internet marketing products, then it’s no use advertising on a site that is all about scuba diving!

When you start to build your online business, ensure you include a well thought out sales lead generation strategy from the beginning. Do not make it an afterthought; this should be in place from the very beginning if you want your business to be a success
